Adam shows that Eynon ap Iorwerth; Ieuan ap Iorwerth; Iorwerth ap Madoc; Ieuan [ap Madoc] brother of Iorewerth ap Madoc have put themselves in the avowry of the king against ap Davit's will and licence, since they are his neifs, and this is against the law and usages of the pays. He requests remedy and that they may no longer have avowry.

Dated by Rees, Petitions Relating to Wales, p. 164, to the reign of Edward II, but without precise context; suggested here, on the basis of the hand, as belonging to the first quarter of the fourteenth century; it is possible that this petition and SC 8/106/5271 were submitted on the same occasion.
