The petitioner states that he was received to the king's peace at Dunfermline, and the king promised to provide him with something for his sustenance at the next parliament. He requests the grant of a certain petty thing that is void so that he is better able to do the king's commands as his lord's liege.

Let him have a writ to the lieutenant and chamberlain of Scotland that he should have a place or office for his sustenance.
