Nature of request
The petitioner seeks compensation with as large a fee as the amount of twelve marks per year and 4d each day for his lifetime, from the fee farm of the city of Worcester, and payment of all arrears due to him from the treasury etc. He states that the late king Henry V by his letters patent under the seal of the duchy of Lancaster (8 April 1417) granted him twelve marks per year for life from the issues and profits of the manor of Alexanderstone. The late king also granted the petitioner 4d each day for his lifetime at the exchequer of Brecknock. The petitioner was peacefully seised of the above sums ... until ... took place between the king, the father, and the Countess of Stafford, by which the king granted the countess the lordship of Brecknock, free of all fees and ... by special act and order made in parliament ... the manor of Pleshey in Essex and for other lands and tenements elsewhere as contained in the act and order.
