Nature of request
The petitioner shows that in a certain plea between him and Baslade before the provost of Bayonne, the award passed for the petitioner as adjudged by the provost, which judgement was appealed of Arnold de Vick to the king. And day was done to the parties on the previous 1 May as contained in the process, and the petitioner came to Devizes on this day and Coting recorded the process in writing. And the other party never came to the day, nor thereafter, for which the petitioner requires the king's letters of error that he should have by right and custom.

The king wishes that he should have an order to the lieutenant of Gascony that all the causes of appeal [be] allowed in the article as now there is as envoy a sufficient person to aver the strength of the oyer and terminer who will ... to them better.
