Nuns, Abbesses and Prioresses of the province of Canterbury.

Nature of request
The petitioners seek discharge from certain charges and oppressions made through visitations on each of their houses for each nun above their quota, which charges are contrary to the form and the intentions of their founders. They state that the king and his ancestors established each of their houses, and the number of nuns in each according to their means etc., which number of nuns in each house is full and more, notwithstanding the fees charged by the archbishop of Canterbury for the ordination of each nun and by the bishops in the same manner.
Nature of endorsement
Let them have a writ to the archbishop and other ordinaries that they should not charge one house of religion otherwise than before, and that they sue their grievances in chancery and there obtain remedy.
