Nature of request
The petitioner asks the present parliament to confer upon him all the rights and freedoms that pertain to one of the king's subjects in England, including the right to buy, sell, hold land, rents and reversions, and to plead and pursue actions in court etc., and including all other freedoms and liberties such that his wife and children have a proper inheritance etc. He states that by the king's express command he came into the realm to serve in the said office, bringing his wife and children and their household to London, buying a messuage and incurring much expense with the intention of dwelling within the realm.1)
