The petitioner seeks justice for the murder of her steward, Henry Tyrel, and shows that she is under the king's protection along with her servants, lands, tenements etc., as plainly appears in letters patent, because Asthorp plotted the murder of Tyrel and made other threats against him at Hemyock, on Tuesday before the feast of SS Simon and Jude, in a warlike manner with many miscreants, namely: Gloucester, Chester, Salesby, Lytelhikke, Springe, Bourne, Fraunceys and others to the number of forty conspirators, to raise treason against the king, of murder etc. None were opposed to them and so they went to kill him, as he could not be found outside his house, which they burned and into which they did not have the power to enter. Then Asthorp and many others to the number of twenty, with hauberks, helmets and other armour, and with horse and harness of the said William Asthorp, went up to the household of the said Henry Tyrol to carry out their threats, and for this they found the ... and they mistreated and wounded his servants while searching, and went to his household, assaulted his wife, wounded his servants, found and killed Henry.
