- The petitioners seek consideration of the unbearably great hardships, distress, costs and charges they have sustained and carried by their attendance and pursuit of agreement in parliament, in prejudice of the university, together with the dangers to the same in their absence for lack of good governance and order, and final remedy for all grievances comprised in their petitions and for escape from their costs and hardships, and in salvation and sustenance of the clergy of the university etc.
