The petitioner asks for the dispatch of the king's letters to the justice and other officers in Cheshire that certain persons impeached should be released according to law and reason, and for the saving of the franchise of the said county. He shows how his nephew, John de Calveley, and other of his cousins and their friends entered the ... of St Asaph in North Wales, to take possession in the name of David de Calveley, and on the strength of a warrant without causing any damage etc., which county of Cheshire has in perpetual lordship without any answer in the said county or beyond etc., and further, John de Calveley and John de Cholmundesley were at that time in the king's service in Calais, and the others were arrested and imprisoned.
