Description
Petitioners
John de Clifford.
Name(s)
de Clifford, John
Addressees
King and council in Parliament.
Nature of request
The petitioner asks that consideration be given to the [wishes of] the lords and commons for his charter of pardon, after which he will return to England and seek recovery of his demesne lands and other lands in parliament according to the will of the king. As he has no wages and is in the king's service on the sea, he also asks for sustenance until he should recover his demesne lands, or others of the same value. He shows that he was exiled for the killing of Coupland and stayed in foreign realms for sixteen years to his great hardship and injury, and at all times held his allegiance of the king.
Nature of endorsement
[None]

People mentioned
John de Coupland.
Note
