Nature of request
The petitioners seek the hearing and examination of a certain petition, and an answer to the same. They state that for a long time they pursued in various parliaments and councils (to their great cost and labour), to have explanation of various articles of their franchise comprised in the petition now sent into parliament, which is to the great profit to the town and no cost to the king.
