- The petitioners ask the present parliament to order that all writs of assize obtained in the time of the king's grandfather stand at law, and that commissions be directed to justices noticing the same, such that any of the petitioners who have made alienations in the meantime are not disinherited. They show that many writs of the assizes of Novel Disseisin and Mort d'Ancestor obtained in that time (through lack of justice), remain in the hands of sheriffs, some arraigned and some not to the great harm of the petitioners.
