Nature of request
The petitioners ask that chirographers who charge more than 4s for engrossing indentures of fines be punished, as in the second statute of Westminster it is ordered that chirographers of fines charge no more than 4s. only for their fee. They now take ransom from the parties beyond their fee, or otherwise they delay them contrary to law.
