- The petitioners seek a letter under the royal privy seal inhibiting the vicar of St Nicholas Church until evidence is forthcoming from Rome of the truth of certain allegations made by him. They claim that their order has the papal privilege of immunity from all church suits. Matthew de Bolton is proceeding against them, alleging a papal counter-privilege.
