- The petitioners ask this present parliament to order and establish by statute that any person entering into religion verified in the king's court should be able to have proof by inquest that they entered their religious habit at the age of thirteen or fourteen years, and that before this age such professed persons be adjudged dead by the law of the land. They show that many men and women have entered religious orders and now sincerely want to leave and intend to have a dispensation from the Holy Father with a favourable certification from bishops of their profession, whereby they wish to have their heritage.
