- The petitioner seeks the bailiwick of Marmande for life because of his debt, for which he is held to the king in 1000 livres tournois. The king owes the petitioner £500 sterling and more for wages paid in Gascony and for supplies. He asks that the king will deduct his wages from the said 1000 livres tournois, and for the rest he will serve the king for all his days, and he will pay the rest from the bailiwick after the war. Written in Scotland.

- Let him have an order to the constable of Bordeaux to allow the £1000 debt and ensure that he receives good letters of quittance, and that the £1000 is endorsed on the said letters of quittance. Grant to him [the petitioner] the said bailiwick etc.
