The petitioner asks that certain wrongdoers be punished according to their just deserts, as an example to others. On Tuesday 15 June 1400 Richard Colbroke entered ... Frelkynde of Colebroke and one William Taillour with force and arms against the peace ... the county of Middlesex and of their malice deliberately ambushed the petitioner and took the issues from his office intended for the king's profit, and they defecated on him and beat, wounded and maimed him.
