Nature of request
The petitioners seek the abolition of badges and liveries that promote faction and disunity among the people of the realm. Recently the king and other lords of the realm have distributed various badges amongst the commons to their great division, and by colour of their badges have maintained faction and oppression and disturbed the common law of the land etc.
