Nature of request
The petitioner seeks a writ to the justices of Wales ordering that the Bishop of Bangor attend a certain day to answer to the king for his disobedience. He states that the king ordered the newly appointed bishop to grant the petitioner an annual pension by his letters patent [until] he appointed the petitioner to the next suitable vacant benefice of his patronage. Walter Reynolds was elevated to Worcester and the king ordered that the petitioner should have his vacant prebend. The bishop answered that by the council of the church in Wales he granted the prebendary to a Welsh clerk, in disinheritance and despite of the king.
Nature of endorsement
An order to the justices of Wales by writ of chancery mentioning two previous orders to the bishop. The same justices will ask the bishop on behalf of the king to implement his orders, or he will be brought into the king's presence on the octave of St Hilary to answer in respect thereof etc.
