The petitioner seeks recovery of the houses that belonged to William de Scotland on the Ness, rendering 30s each year as he did previously. He shows that at the first establishment of the town of Berwick-upon-Tweed he took (by the king's charter) the houses that belonged to William for 30s each year and was seised thereof for years and days. The king's agents have ousted the petitioner and entrusted the houses to Spicer for 6d per year to the king's damage and the disinheritance of the petitioner.
