Nature of request
Walter de Cotewell, formerly servant of the Templars states that Robert de Lutheburgh, formerly keeper of Willoughton in Lindsey, when it was in the King's hand, withheld from him the sum he was granted from these lands by the King after the dissolution of the Templars, and asks that these arrears might be levied from Robert and paid to him. He also asks that he might in future have what was granted to him by the King from this manor, which is now in the hands of John de Moubray and Gerard de Chauncy, and of which he receives nothing.
Nature of endorsement
The Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer are to be ordered that, when they have called before them both the Robert mentioned here and the aforesaid Walter, they are to do justice to them in the matter of the 44s. 4d. mentioned here.With regard to John de Moubray, it cannot be done at present.
