Nature of request
William de Cloune, valet, states that the King had given his body and his movable goods to Robert Lewere, with whom he had voluntarily made fine to be in peace in future, and that he had the King's charter for all manner of trespasses. But Thomas le Rous, Sheriff of Leicestershire, has seized, by commission from the King, the little that was returned to him by gift of Robert Lewere for his sustenance. He asks that his goods might be given back to him.
Nature of endorsement
The Sheriff is to be ordered to provide information on the means and cause of the seizure etc.; and when that cause has been returned, justice is to be done to him in Chancery.

Dated to 1322, with reference to CPR 1321-4 p.103, which is dated 6 April 1322, and the List of Sheriffs, which states that Thomas le Rous was Sheriff of Leicestershire from 28 October 1321 to 27 October 1322.
