Nature of request
John de Chesterton of Grantham states that he lost an assize of novel disseisin against William de Bukminster concerning lands and tenements in Bridge End, because, by agreement between them, William's attorney, William de Poynton the younger, falsely recorded in Chancery that John had two attorneys, William Baudewyn of Barrowby and Ralph Maresshal of Pointon - who were never his attorneys - and then used this to challenge an essoin. John requests a remedy for this deceit.
Nature of endorsement
The justices of the Bench are to be ordered by writ containing the effect of this petition that, when they have heard John's complaint and summoned before them both William de Bukminster and William de Poynton, and William Baudwyn and Ralph, and when they have heard their arguments on one side and the other, if they can establish by inquisition or by recognisance of William, William, William and Ralph, or of any of them, that John lost the aforesaid lands through the said collusion, then they are to do justice, both for the King and for John, both for the deceit and collusion, and for the recovery of the tenements.
