Nature of request
Robert de Clifford states that the King has granted him his lands to hold at their valuation until he comes of age, and he is being distrained by a writ of the Exchequer to answer for the issues. He asks that the Chancellor might be ordered to examine the inquisition returned in Chancery proving his age, and to order the Treasurer and Barons to discharge him for the period since he came of age.
Nature of endorsement
The inquisitions and the remembrances of Chancery are to be examined, and if it is found from them that Robert de Clifford is of age, then orders are to be given to discharge him for the time when he was of age.
Note
CFR 1327-37 p.5 is dated 3 February 1327. This petition must date from some time shortly after this.
