Note
CChR 1327-41 p.397 is dated 20 March 1337, and may well be in response to this petition. The charters are the same, but fuller, and there are variations, of which the most important is that the first one is of Stephen, not Henry II (it is quite common for charters of Stephen to be copied under the name of Henry). The second and third charters are datable to 1175-1182 and 1163-1172 (probably 1163-1166) respectively (Vincent, Henry II, no.634 and no. 629).
