Nature of request
The nuns of Clerkenwell ask the King to confirm their charters, a copy of which is sewn to this petition, by inspeximus, with the clause 'licet'.
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege et magno consilio.Their charters are to be examined in Chancery, and if they are not to the King's prejudice, the charters are to be confirmed of the King's grace, on account of their poverty; and with regard to the clause 'licet', they are to sue to the King.
