Nature of request
Geoffrey le Clerk of Bishop's Lavington states that Edmund Gascelyn, knight, formerly adherant of Hugh le Depsenser, had him falsely arrested and imprisoned by the Sheriff of Wiltshire, claiming that he had bought sheep belonging to Edmund and stolen by John [illegible], adherent of the Earl of Lancaster. Edmund then made him give him a bond for 2000 marks and security for the return of his sheep, and although he has both the money and the sheep, he still has the bond. He requests a remedy for this and for his damages for the false imprisonment.
