King and council.
Nature of request
Robert Clement states that the King's grandfather granted the commote of Penardd to Geoffrey Clement, his father. After his death, Geoffrey Clement, his brother entered, then he did, and was seised until Roger de Mortimer, on a false suggestion concerning Elene, wife of Meredydd Vauwhan, seized them into the King's hand. He requests a remedy.
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege et magno consilio.
Places mentioned
[Penardd] commote, [Cardiganshire, Wales].

Geoffrey Clement, father of petitioner
Geoffrey Clement, brother of petitioner

Meredydd Vauwhan (Fychan).
Note
The writ for the first inquisition in CIM 1307-49 no. 1292 is dated 17 July 5 Edward III (1331), and a petition from Geoffrey Clement, probably this one, is mentioned. CCR 1330-3 p.486 is dated 17 August 1332. This petition would therefore seem to date to 1331.
