Nature of request
Roger, Bishop of Chester, asks that a sum of money owed to him by the King's father for corn bought from him when he was Archdeacon of Richmond, might be allowed against the sum he owes the King for the arrears of the subsidy of 5d in the mark, and that, as he cannot levy the remainder of this sum because of the number of free chapels in his diocese, he might be discharged of it, taking from him the names of the debtors.

He is to go to Chancery and show the bill there etc. And when it has been examined the Treasurer and Barons etc. are to be ordered by writ to give him due allowance etc.An with regard to the discharge etc. concerning the things touching free chapels etc., the Treasurer and Barons etc. are to be ordered that if they can establish that it is so, they are to discharge etc.
