Nature of request
Letters patent of Edward III, instructing John de Trillowe, William de Shareshull and Robert de Aston, or two of them, to hold an inquisition into whether it would be to the King's harm or prejudice, or that of anyone else, or would lead to a reduction in his farm for Gloucestershire, if he permitted the burgesses of Bristol to have view of frankpledge in their city; and if they have had view of frankpledge from time immemorial, and how, and in what way, and how much it is worth annually.
