Richard de Beteyne, Mayor of London.
Note
The petition seems to mention arrears of wages from the translation of St Nicholas in the King's thirty-eighth year to the coming feast of All Saints in the King's thirty-first year - which does not seem to make sense, or to agree with the hand or the contents of the rest of the petition. If twenty-eighth is understood instead of thirty-eighth, and the numbers are understood as 1328 and 1331, however, this petition would date from shortly before All Saints 1331. Check m.11 and m.2 of C 61/44.
