- Thomas Browne, who lately brought saffron to Bristol for the King's use, states that one Richard Longe of Bristol, an Irishman, is threatening and attacking him, together with other Irishmen. He requests the King's letters under the privy seal to the Sheriff of Bristol, to arrest Richard Longe, to appear before the King and council to answer any accusations made against him.

Note (Additional information about the record)
- Tentatively dated to the reign of Henry VII, with reference to the mention of a Richard Warde of Bristol, merchant, in CPR 1494-1509 p.224. This seems quite plausible, with regard to the hand and language. However, another note dates it to c.29 Henry VI.
