Addressees
Council.
Nature of request
Thomas Deneys states that Thomas Brook, knight, has entered the manor of Weycroft in Devon, and holds it with force, through a grant made to Thomas Brook's father, by William, son and heir of Thomasine Wicroft, who then held it, although this grant could be made for the term of William's life only, and the manor should then descend to him. He cannot sue against Thomas Brook by common law, as he is so wealthy and powerful, and asks the council to ordain a remedy, that he might have justice and preserve his right.
