Description
Petitioners
Amat de Morar, citizen of Bayonne.
Name(s)
de Morar, Amat
Addressees
King and council.
Occupation
citizen of Bayonne
Nature of request
Amat de Morar, citizen of Bayonne states that he impleaded Honour Columb, widow of Guilhem Arnaud, before the Mayor of Bayonne in a plea of debt, in which judgment was given in his favour. She appealed to the King's lieutenants in Gascony, but again judgment was given against her. She then appealed to the King himself, and sent a proctor to Scotland to appear before the King on the day assigned; but Honour defaulted. He requests a letter ordering that his debt be levied, in accordance with the judgment.
Nature of endorsement
The King wishes the Lieutenant in Gascony to be ordered to allow all cases of appeal to remain at the point in which they now are, until he sends a suitable man who will have power to hear and determine them; which he will do as soon as he properly can.

Note
Dated on the guard to 1296-1307, with reference to the King being in Scotland. III, no. 4531 (circumstantial reference from 1299).
