The petitioner asks the commons to ask the King and lords to grant him a pardon and release for the escape of certain prisoners in the late King's ninth year, for which a process is in train against him, in consideration of his long service, and the fact that six of the escapees were recaptured, and that he is willing to surrender all his letters patent for his office.

CPR 1422-9 p.421 is dated 1 February 1422. From the references to the late king, and especially to his ninth year [21 March 1421 - 20 March 1422] this petition would seem to date from the first few years of the reign of Henry VI.
