Nature of request
Letters patent of Henry VI, granting to John, Duke of Bedford, the manors of Henstridge and Charlton, and two thirds of Canford, Amesbury, and Winterbourne, to make up to £2000 the grant of the castle, county, honour and lordship of Richmond given him by Henry V, as well as the remaining third of Canford, Amesbury, and Winterbourne, after the death of Alice [de la Pole, Countess of Suffolk], his wife who was the widow of Thomas [de Monte Acuto (Montague), Earl of Salisbury].
