Nature of request
Writ from Edward III to the Sheriff of Buckinghamshire, ordering him to instruct the Abbess of Burnham to appear before him on a certain day, to show evidence for her right in a case between her and Geoffrey de Bolestrod in the matter of certain tenements in Chalfont St Peter which he claims, but which she also claims as part of the manor of Bulstrode.
Nature of endorsement
John Mareschal, Sheriff.I instructed the Abbess of Burnham to be in Chancery on the day contained in this writ, according to its tenor, by William atte Lente and John de Dorneye.On which day the aforesaid parties appeared. And because of the departure of the Chancellor, the business is adjourned in the state in which it now is until the octaves of John the Baptist next; and thereupon a day is given to the same parties in Chancery etc.
