Nature of request
[This writ is badly damaged and the last part missing.] Writ of Edward III to the Sheriff of Buckinghamshire, [ordering him to take the lands and tenements in Chalfont St Peter recently delivered to Geoffrey de Bolestrode back into the King's hand, and to deliver them to the Abbess of Burnham], as it has now been discovered that they were part of the manor of Bulstrode, formerly belonging to the Knights Templar, and that Geoffrey had no legitimate estate in them.
