Nature of request
Writ from William de Shareshulle, Robert de Asshele, and John Lovedai, justices appointed to hold an inquisition into Geoffrey de Bolestrode's seisin of certain tenements in Chalfont St Peter and his expulsion from them by Hugh le Despencer, junior, asking the Sheriff of Buckinghamshire to arrange for a jury for this inquisition, and to instruct the keeper of these lands and tenements to be present.
Nature of endorsement
Philip de Ayllesbiry, Sheriff.According to the tenor of this command I summoned twenty-four, as in the panel sewn to the original writ and to this one.I instructed Walter Tork, the Keeper of the lands and tenements mentioned below in this writ, to appear before you on the day and at the place names in the writ, to do there what pertains to him, by Robert Sherman, and Robert Whitecol.
