John de Drokenesford, Bishop of Bath and Wells, requests a writ to warrant his essoin in a plea of land against John de Thistelden, heard at York on the morrow of Martinmas last, as on that day he was in the King's service at Westminster, working on the accounts from his time as Keeper of the Wardrobe.

Note
John de Drokenesford was appointed as Bishop of Bath and Wells in 1309, and served as Keeper of the Wardrobe twice, between 20 November 1295 and 8 July 1307, and between 8 July 1308 and 8 July 1309. The French endorsement would be unusual as early as 1309, and furthermore the petition is among a group of petitions that seem to be dated to c. 1324. This petition is therefore tentatively dated to c. 1324. However, one of this group, (SC 8/95/4733) seems to date to 1322.
