Note (Additional information about the record)
- John de Drokenesford was appointed as Bishop of Bath and Wells in 1309, and served as Keeper of the Wardrobe twice, between 20 November 1295 and 8 July 1307, and between 8 July 1308 and 8 July 1309. The French endorsement would be unusual as early as 1309, and furthermore the petition is among a group of petitions that seem to be dated to c. 1324. This petition is therefore tentatively dated to c. 1324. However, one of this group, (SC 8/95/4733) seems to date to 1322.
