Name(s)

Addressees

Nature of request
John Brokeman and Huwette his wife state Huwette was disseised of her manor of Fifehead Neville by John Fyfhyde, parson of Bereforde, and that her suit of novel disseisin against him was disrupted by the manor being purchased from him by Yon Fitz Waryn, whose maintenance and threats have meant that she has not been able to receive justice for seventeen years. He has refused to abide by the arbitration of the Duke of Guyenne, but now the matter has gone again to arbitration, this time by a group of justices. They have come to a decision, but one of their number, Richard Starry, who was chosen by Yon Fitz Waryn, is refusing to abide by it. They request a remedy in this parliament, that the justices might be required to give their verdict.
Nature of endorsement
This petition is to be sent to Chancery, and the Chancellor, by authority of parliament, is to have the parties appear before him in Chancery, and there, when he has carefully seen and examined the matter contained in this petition, and heard the arguments on both sides, there is further to be done, by authority of parliament, what justice and reason, good faith and conscience demand in the case.
