- The petition is dated speculatively to? 1381-? 1382 on the basis of the guard note, though no evidence is given to substantiate this. The petition is clearly early in Richard II's reign, and the hand of the petition and content suggest that it is a near contemporary of SC 8/94/4689, which bears an identical speculative date. The letters patent is dated in its dating clause to 3 October 1375 (49 Edw. III).
