Nature of request
The prior and convent request remedy and that their letters patent be confirmed as they have been impeached before the barons of the Exchequer that the priory ought to be taken into the king's hand by the war, though they have letters patent of the king's grandfather making them denizen, and because their house was badly damaged by fire and they are impoverished which matter is not allowed before the barons of the Exchequer.
