Drapers of the city of London.

Nature of request
[Petition in 4 parts]1) They requests remedy as Brembre with others of his assent have procured the election of the mayor against their charter of liberties.2) They request remedy as Brembre and other of his assent with a multitude came to Cheap and seized several of their mystery and imprisoned them so that they were in fear of their lives and lost their goods against their charter.3) They request remedy and that the king have the mayor bring the indictments that Brembre out of malice procured against many, and also make to come the indictors who Brembre and others of his assent procured.4) They request that the statute made in the parliament held at Westminster in the 6th year of the reign that stated that no victualler should hold office in towns, cities and ports unless there is no alternative be observed, as Brembre and his accomplices have behaved contrary to this.
