[Petition in two parts].1) The abbot and convent request that they be granted a licence to approve from their tenants and from others up to an amount of £30 of land and rent to alleviate their poverty.2) They request that by writ it is enquired of their rights in the forests formerly of Lord Eagle, as since these have come into the king's hand the foresters and other keepers have disturbed them.1)
Nature of endorsement
For the first they are to specify the lands, and they should have a writ of Chancery for an inquisition.2) For the second, they should have a writ in Chancery to the justice of the Forest that he should enquire and report back to the king.
