Nature of request
Bowet requests that the record etc. by which Bowet was wrongfully adjudged for treason in 22 Richard II be brought before the king and the judgement annulled in this parliament, and that he be granted redress against the occupiers of his lands, tenements, benefices, chattels and offices, and the damages and losses that he has sustained. Though adjudged a traitor, and to be executed, Richard II pardoned him the execution and banished him.

William Feriby, clerk
[The names are struck through, and a note added below the petition that these names were cancelled by the request and order of the petitioner].
Note
The petition dates to c. 1399 as Bowet forfeited in 1398 as part of what appears to have been Richard II's attack on the former appellants, and though no specific order can be found in accordance with the request in the printed sources, it seems from the favourable grants in the patent rolls in 1399 that Bowet was restored with the usurpation (CPR 1399-1401, pp. 194, 199).
