Nature of request
Bohun requests an oyer and terminer into the waste and destruction done in his castle and manor of Kimbolton by Burstlere and Burstler when he was in the king's custody. He requests that he be granted their punishment.
Nature of endorsement
Because in the current parliament by common assent the justice of oyer and terminer were suspended, the king wishing that the justices be assigned to enquire upon the things contained in the petition and they should certify the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer are to be certified upon this. And the barons are to be commanded that when they have viewed the inquest and called those that ought to be called, they should do full justice according to the law and usage of the place.

Note
The petition is dated to 1328 as the petition is dated to the parliament held at Northampton in that year by Richard Kaeuper based on its challenge to the oyer and terminer commission (Kaeuper, 'Law and Order', p.746). The king had earlier granted to the earl the arrears of the farms and rents from the time of his minority to redress the damage done to his estate in that time on 10 January 1327 (CPR 1324-7, p.345).
