- The petition dates to c. 1400 as the earldom, castles, honour and lordship of Richmond were granted to the earl of Westmorland on 20 October 1399, and the petitioner appears to have been dead by July 1403 (CPR 1399-1401, p.24; CPR 1401-5, p.247).
