The petition dates to 1333 because it refers to Henry de Gulden as the late escheator, and his term ended in October 1333 (List of Escheators, p.134). In addition, an inquisition into the grant by Walter Elys and his wife Isabel that lay behind this petition was held by Gulden on 8 January 1333, and Gulden's successor was ordered to stop meddling in these lands on 28 September 1333 (CIM 1307-49, no.1303; CCR 1333-7, p.140).
