Nature of request
The master and brethren request that they be discharged of 46s according to the form of their feoffment and confirmation as they were granted by Henry III that they and their successors to have and hold freely and quit forever 100s of land of Whitfield with all the land of Kingshill, and they held it until Passeley, who was assigned to arrent the sergeanties of the king, arrented the lands against the form of their charter in 46s to be paid at the Exchequer which they have petitioned against and an inquisition has been held, but they are charged with the sum.
